A diamond is known for its long lasting sustainability. It is a gemstone that shines and sparkles throughout its life. Its hardness and forever lasting luster is also what makes it stand out amongst the rest of the gemstones. Its purity in its chemical composition is also what contributes to its extraordinary speciality.

This should be noted that a diamond can only last long if proper care is taken of it. This care involves its proper storage, it's time to time cleaning and other necessary methods of care. A diamond requires proper cleaning at regular intervals. This makes sure that the dust collected is extracted out and the sparkle of the stone could be restored.

A diamond can collect the dust around you in daily wear. It can also accumulate some dirt particles resulting in its depleting quality of shine. This could be avoided through regular cleaning of your diamond piece.

One of the most obvious ways to get it cleaned is through a professional jeweler who has all the tools and machinery for it to clean it deeply and restore its sparkle. There are other ways as well that you can do it yourself as well.

  • In your home, soak a bowl full of water with a soap that is gentle and not so harsh. This could be a dish soap or any other soap that is gentle and does not react violently.
  • The water should be lukewarm.
  • Keep the jewelry soaked for some time, (20-30 minutes)
  • After that, take a soft bristled brush and rub the surface of the jewelry with bristles gently.
  • Dry and rinse off the ring with a soft cloth and dry off the excess water.

Make sure that you don't do this near a sink so that your ring does not slip out with the soap through the sinkhole and you don’t lose out on the precious ring. Because the soap makes it slippery to handle and it is a very big possibility for it to slip out.

It is also necessary for you to make sure that you don’t use other home agents like harsh toothpastes and other household cleaners. So that it does not scratch your diamond and put harm on your diamonds. Using soft cleaners will always help you not chip out your diamonds.

It is always advisable to get your diamond cleaned by a professional jeweler. Cleaning your diamond regularly so that you are able to maintain the sparkle and shine throughout and make it more long lasting. Cleaning your diamond jewelry from time to time is required for you to make it more sparkly and shiny.
